Why I Swear by Ice Rolling

If you have been following me for a while now, you’ll know that I love all things skincare. We’ve seen the jade roller trend and the dry brush obsession; but one skincare secret I’ve been swearing by for years is icing my face – here’s why.

Why it’s great…

Ice rolling is a great way to reduce puffiness and facial swelling. It’s absolutely normal to wake up with a puffy face in the morning (especially after a night out), and using an ice roller can immediately help. Like dry brushing, ice rolling also aids with lymphatic drainage which helps to reduce toxins in your body, fight infection, and keep breakouts at bay.

When & how you should use it…

I ice roll my face every morning (and a little extra at night if I have breakouts). Just to be clear, I use two different forms of ice on my face: my Tovolo ice cube molds and my ice roller. Both are under $15 and truly something I absolutely swear by. First, I cleanse my face and use micellar water to get any excess makeup off, then I use my ice cube mold all over my face, nose, and under eyes. I mix a little witch hazel in with the water before freezing. Then I pat dry, use my toner + vitamin C serum, moisturize and ice roll with the roller.

You’ll need to store both the ice cube mold & the ice roller in your freezer before using it in order to get the full effect. Roll along your cheeks, temples, forehead, and jawline. If you suffer from under-eye puffiness, focus on that area a little longer than the rest.

Have you tried ice rolling yet? Also, what are your top secret beauty hacks? I’m here for all of them! 🙂
