Summer Activities on a Budget

Now that it’s June, it’s officially Summer time and I don’t know about you, but I’m so excited to start planning fun, warm-weather activities! Gav and I had originally planned a trip to Europe this Summer, but due to his busy work and school schedule, we decided to postpone our Euro trip to next year and instead stay local and save some money. If you’re doing the same or just looking for inexpensive things to do this Summer, keep reading!

Camping

For Gavin’s birthday I got him this really cool car tent (similar one here) and we tested it out for his birthday in January. We had the best time and it worked so well that we decided that we were going to do more camping this Summer. While looking for recommendations, we were told about a website called Total Escape that can help you find great camping destinations and can’t wait to check some of those out.

Beach or Pool Day

Living in LA is so great because there is always something to do – the beach being one of them. We are so lucky to have some of the greatest beaches and can’t wait to spend some time up in Malibu. Zuma and Paradise Cove are our favorite. LA also has some of the best pool day parties. If you’d like an entire post dedicated to this, let me know!

Road Trip

Why not take a road trip with a couple of friends? Road trips are a great way to see a lot of different places that you wouldn’t normally see and can be relatively inexpensive. I’ve personally always wanted to see Big Sur, so a road trip up the California coastline would be so much fun!

Dinner Party

Have a few recipes you’ve pinned on Pinterest but haven’t tried yet? Having some of your friends or family over for a dinner party would be the perfect time to try some of them out and get everyone together. Glam up your table outside and enjoy some great food and good times in the backyard!

Vacation on a Budget

Plan a little weekend getaway or staycation. For me here in LA, Palm Springs or Santa Barbara are some of my favorites, but I’ve also posted some tips on how to travel on a budget here. Gavin and I are also fortunate enough to both have family vacation homes that are no more than 5 hours away, so that’s also a great choice for us and perfect time to spend quality time with our families.
