5 Ways to get Spring Ready

IMG_0042

While it’s been rainy and cold in LA lately, I have been dreaming of warmer weather (and maybe a trip to Palm Springs?). You too? Well, Spring is just around the corner and I am so looking forward to a new season. Spring is one of my favorites and in order to prep for warmer days, I’ve come up with a list of things I do personally that help get me prepare!

Protect Your Skin

Sunscreen is something I am so so passionate about and I can honestly tell you that I wear it every single day – rain or shine. Harmful UV rays are out regardless of what you may think, and it’s crucial to protect your skin. The #1 dermatologist recommendation for preventing early signs of aging is sunscreen so if you don’t already use some every day, maybe it’s time you start! My all time favorite is the SuperGoop! Unseen Sunscreen and I wear it under my makeup as a primer.

Exfoliate

I know I am not the only one who’s skin gets super dry during the cold, Winter months. But there is something we can do to prevent it! I always say to exfoliate your face at least once a week, but just think, if you’re exfoliating your face, why wouldn’t you do the same to your entire body? Getting rid of those dead skin cells helps you achieve a closer shave, softer skin, and will help with your faux tan! In my 5 Favorite Face Masks, I talk about my homemade coffee scrub, and honestly – I use that all over my body – not just my face. Using an exfoliating scrub rich in coffee and coconut oil has many health benefits to your skin such as: increased blood flow, and may reduce the appearance of cellulite to give your skin a more even tone.

Fake & Bake

I know I’m not the only one that feels so much better when I’ve got a little color, and since sitting in the sun isn’t really an option this time of year (or necessarily healthy for your skin), why not fake it? My all time favorite faux tan comes from St. Tropez – well Nordstrom really, but you get the point. This express self-tanning mousse is my go-to these days because it dries so quickly, doesn’t smell, and you only have to wear it between 1-3 hours to get the color you want. That mean no sleeping in it overnight, which is a win/win in my book!

Work it Out

Waking up early and working out can be tough when it’s cold out, but it’s one of the best ways to start getting yourself warm-weather-ready. If being a morning person isn’t your thing, but you want to try to get better at it, ready my tips on how to be a morning person! I was the same way too, but now love waking up early and getting in that morning workout. Even if you don’t have a gym membership, there are little ways you can incorporate a quick workout into your daily routine. One of my favorites is doing 30 squats while I wait for the shower to warm up or while I wait for a face mask to dry.

 Gone Shopping!

Does anyone else get that ‘New Season, New Me’ feeling? The best part about a new season is dressing the part and if you buy a few pieces here and there, you’ll have built a new Spring wardrobe in no time. One of my favorite looks lately, and a great transition outfit into Spring, is a pair of boyfriend jeans, with a t-shirt, a blazer (one below now on sale for under $35!) and some pumps. Super casual but put together. Shop some of my favorite items for Spring below!

Plan a Trip!

Like I mentioned above, I’ve been craving a quick trip to somewhere warm and living in LA, there are so many options. My two go-to weekend destinations are Palm Springs and Vegas. Both of which I visited last year – read about them here and here. I always feel like planning a quick weekend trip somewhere warm really gets you in the mood for Summer – plus, I think we could all use a little break, don’t you?

How are you getting ready for Spring? What are you go-to places for a quick weekend away! I love hearing from you and getting new ideas, so leave them in the comments below!
