Happy Valentine’s Dayyyyy! I am one of those cheesy people that adore these “Hallmark holidays” because I truly feel like life is too short to pass up the opportunity to celebrate, even if it is a little cliche. So whether you’ve got a romantic night in with your S.O. or a fun night out with the girls, I hope you feel loved!
As for Gav & I, we will be staying in tonight, ordering take out, and watching a movie on the couch (which you’ll see is one of his favorite things to do together!). This year, we decided to celebrate a little early (see this post here), so a night in on the couch sounded perfect! And since I’ve been trying to get a little more personal with ya’ll, and because our Anniversary Q&A was so popular, I thought Valentine’s Day would be the perfect time to do another Q&A together! Keep reading!
Do you remember what you did for your first Valentine’s Day together? If so, what was special about it?
A: On our first Valentine’s Day, I was working, but he was at home. I had a heart-shaped pizza delivered to him for dinner. I figured if we couldn’t be together, he could at least enjoy some pizza! I also surprised him with tickets to the King’s hockey game.
G: Alyssa was still managing the hotel she used to work for and had a late shift so we were not going to get to spend the night together. She sent me a heart shaped pizza for dinner. I stayed up late and waited for her to get home and we had pizza, wine and relaxed in bed.
When you first met, what was your first impression?
A: I met him over summer when I was invited to his lake house by a friend. He was quiet, but really sweet and easy to talk to. We became fast friends. He’s always been one of the only people I’ve always felt like I could be 100% myself around, and I feel like that is such a great quality to posses. Especially in a partner.
G: She was mesmerizing, I had never felt something like that before.
What is something I do that always makes you laugh?
A: He always makes me laugh, but my favorite is when he tries to dance.
G: Her clumsiness.
What made you fall in love with me? Has it changed over time?
A: There are so many reasons why I fell in love with him, but I remember thinking it for the first time while I was watching him drive his boat. He gave me that sense of comfort and safety that allowed me to be vulnerable, and I’d never felt that way with anyone. As we continue to grow up, there are definitely new reasons I fall in love with him; like watching him be a good cat dad, and furthering his career and education to better our family’s well-being.
G: I fell in love with her because I felt a connection to her in a way I had never felt with anything or anyone. Over time it has changed, but only because I feel even more connected and closer to her.
What has been your most memorable date?
A: There are two for me: definitely our date to Paradise Cove (he wasn’t my boyfriend yet and we hadn’t seen each other in years, but had the best time catching up), and when he took me to Geoffrey’s in Malibu and surprised me with Stagecoach tickets, new cowboy boots, and a belt. He’s always been good at surprises.
G: I think that we both can agree that the date that felt the most memorable was our first time at Paradise Cove. I can remember everything that happened that day! 😉
How would you describe me to other people?
A: Laid back, loving, kind, and patient.
G: Smart, caring, beautiful, determined, and kinda funny.
What’s your favorite thing to do together? And why.
A: I love traveling together. Exploring new places with him is so much fun because I love seeing him out of his comfort zone.
G: If I had to pick one thing it would be just pig out and relax on the couch.
What are the top 3 things you love about me?
A: His dimples, his patience, and how he always takes care of me.
G: Her sense of humor, the fact that she pretends to think I’m funny, & her “normal” smile.

A: Never stop showing that person you love them. Life gets busy, but always make time for each other without distractions (TV/phone/computer).
G: Listen, learn, and love.
