What to Pack: Labor Day Staples

If you’ve been reading my blog for some time now, you’ll know that I am a planner. I pack for my trips at least a week out and always have a typed out itinerary. Luckily this year, our Labor Day plans are a little more relaxed and I was able to get away without having an itinerary (just this once, though!).

Labor Day has to be one of my favorite holidays because it means that Fall is just around the corner. Gavin and I will be taking a trip up to my family’s cabin in the woods, so it’ll be the absolute perfect weather to combine my favorite pieces from Summer with some of the Fall items I bought from the Nordstrom Early Access Sale! The best part is that so many of these staples are easy to mix and match, so they’re ideal for a long weekend trip!

Denim

Whether it be a denim jacket or your favorite pair of jeans, you really can’t go wrong with denim. I always like to keep a denim jacket or a pair of jeans in my bag especially as it cools off in the evening. I found these jeans the other day at Anthropologie (on sale!) and love how they’re both cute and comfortable.

Comfortable Button Down

Who doesn’t love a classic button down shirt? Bonus points if it’s cute and comfortable!  This one is my current favorite and looks great with a mini skirt or a pair of jeans.

Layers

I fell in love with this cardigan when shopping the #NSale. Unfortunately it’s sold out, but you can find a similar one here. Layers are perfect for me because it’s hot during the day, but as it cools off at night, I like to have that easy extra layer I can just throw on.

Shoes

Sandals are so in right now and I’m obsessed with these pink fluffy ones at the moment. I also love these slip-on Converse I bought during the NSale and these Gucci dupes from Forever 21. Since Gav & I will be up at my cabin, I won’t be wearing heels, but sandals and tennis shoes are perfect!

What are your plans for this weekend and what staples are you going to pack?
